Craig brings to the position a diverse background in consulting, managed care, process improvement, and financial controls, with a strong track record of success in physician relations, employee and patient engagement, ambulatory operations, and business development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before joining Elliot, Craig served in a dual role as the chief operating officer of both the 415-bed Tufts Medical Center and the 550-member Tufts Medical Center Physicians Organization in Boston. In this capacity, he had day-to-day responsibility for the effective and efficient operation of the two organizations, and provided direct oversight to four key service lines. He was instrumental in streamlining Tufts&#8217;s operations in preparation for a partnership with a community health system, and successfully established a culture of accountability, designed and implemented programs that significantly improved safety and overall quality of the patient experience, and led significant financial margin improvement efforts and performance improvement initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously, Craig served as the senior vice president of medicine and ambulatory operations at Tufts Medical Center; as the senior manager of healthcare consulting at Feeley &amp; Driscoll, PC; and in a variety of positions in administration and finance with Brigham &amp; Women&#8217;s Hospital. He began his career in the managed care arena as an analyst with Blue Cross Blue Shield in Boston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Craig earned his bachelor&#8217;s degree in business administration at Framingham State University, and his MBA (with a concentration in health care) at Suffolk University. He is currently in the process of completing a second graduate degree \u2013 a Master of Public Health \u2013 at Boston University. Craig is a board member and fellow of University of Massachusetts&#8217;s Emerging Leaders Program, and has published various professional articles.
